The Ultimate Guide to the QR Code Generator

The QR Code Generator allows you to create high-resolution, custom-colored QR codes in seconds. Whether you need a simple black-and-white code for a business card or a branded, high-error-correction code for a massive billboard, this tool processes everything instantly and securely in your browser.

Who Will Use This?

  • Marketers & Business Owners: Generate QR codes that link directly to your website, menu, or social media pages to place on printed flyers, business cards, or table tents.
  • Graphic Designers: Create high-resolution (up to 1200px) QR codes with custom colors to perfectly match your client's brand guidelines without losing scannability.
  • Event Organizers: Quickly generate codes for vCards, WiFi passwords, or event registration pages to display on projector screens or entry banners.

How to Generate a Custom QR Code

  1. Enter Your Content: Type or paste your desired URL, text, or data into the QR CONTENT text box. The live preview on the right will update immediately.
  2. Customize Colors: Under QR COLORS, pick a Foreground color (the dark squares) and a Background color. Tip: Ensure there is strong contrast between the two colors so smartphone cameras can easily read it.
  3. Select Resolution & Correction:
    • Resolution: Choose 400px for web use, 800px for standard printing, or 1200px for large-scale physical media like banners.
    • Correction (Error Correction Level): Choose "High" if you plan to stick a logo in the middle of the QR code later in Photoshop, or if the printed code might get slightly damaged/dirty. Otherwise, "Medium" is standard.
  4. Download: Click the Download QR (PNG) button. The tool automatically adds a clean 10% "quiet zone" padding around your code to guarantee it scans perfectly every time.

Common Problems & Tips

  • My QR code isn't scanning! The most common reason for a failed scan is poor contrast. Make sure your foreground is significantly darker than your background. Also, never invert the colors (putting a white code on a black background) as many older barcode scanners cannot read inverted codes.
  • The QR code looks too complex/dense: The more text you paste into the content box, the more "dots" the QR code requires to store that data. If your URL is extremely long, consider using a URL shortener first.
  • Is my data tracked? No. The generator runs locally via client-side JavaScript. We do not store your links, texts, or track who scans the codes you generate. These are standard, static QR codes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No! The QR codes generated by this tool are "Static." This means the data (like your URL) is hard-coded directly into the pattern itself. As long as the link you entered remains active, the QR code will work forever.

What does the Error Correction level do?

Error correction adds backup data into the code. A "High" setting means that even if 30% of the QR code gets ripped, covered in dirt, or covered by a custom logo in Photoshop, a phone camera can still successfully read the destination URL.
